As Christians, how do we navigate the subject of homosexuality? The Bible, believe it or not, tells us exactly how to do this. Scripture gives us two absolute mandates as followers of Christ and they are truth and love. We can easily and often mess that balance up. However, the goal is to speak truth and to demonstrate love. Truth without love is brutality. Love without truth is hypocrisy. We cannot condone, accept, encourage or celebrate homosexuality or homosexual relationships any more than we can celebrate someone harming themselves. All sin is active hatred against God, which is dangerous and deadly but no more so than our very own sin that all of us have. The bottom line is that we must maintain Biblical truth and Godly love when dealing with all sin.
