Fear Is the Path to Intimacy

What is intimacy with God? We think closeness but there is an element of knowledge as well. The person that you are closest with doesn't just know you, they know you well. They are able to guess how you are going to react, interpret what you didn't say, and anticipate your needs or wants. Intimacy is the difference between knowing someone and knowing about someone. When we speak of intimacy with God, it is that kind of knowledge and familiarity that we are talking about. So ask yourself, do you know Him or do you just know about Him? Paul tells us to test and examine ourselves. Ask God to reveal Himself to you and to give you the gift of Holy Fear.
