Stay on Mission
We will find that the book of Nehemiah is very similar to the book of Ezra. If we look closely, we will see how the enemy is working in both of these books. He uses questions and accusations that are designed to induce doubt. When this isn't working, he uses insults and threats through others to tell us whatever it is that we are trying to do for God isn't worth the effort. Then the insults will come that are designed to cause fear. And finally, he gives us the distractions that are designed to redirect our efforts. All of these things we find happening in Nehemiah. So how do we respond to all of this? We remind ourselves constantly of what our greatest mission is within the command to love God and to love others. We all have a unique mission within the walls of this command and Satan will do whatever he can to get us away from it. We need to consistently take inventory of whether or not we are distracted and wasting precious time. If you find that you are, then confess, repent, and get back on mission. If you can stay on mission then it will most definitely be worth it.
