His Grace Is Sufficient

Paul prayed three times for the ailment that he had to be taken away from him. God's answer to these prayers is 2 Corinthians 12:9 which says, "My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." When we say "enough" or "sufficient", we typically mean that it meets the minimum standard. That is not the word that God is using here. This idea is more than enough, overwhelmingly more, and unfailingly sufficient. God's grace is not the consolation prize for Paul or for us, it is the gold. It is more than enough and it is enough because it is unfailing. It is sufficient because it is all sufficient. God gives us a statement of promise and contentment. His Grace is sufficient!
