Keep Making the Hard Choices

Ezra gives us an example to follow when it comes to following God and making difficult decisions. Ezra had to make a very difficult choice because the Israelites kept going back to their unfaithful ways. However, the thing that is harder than obedience to God is fixing the mess we make when we are disobedient and Ezra knew this. He made the hard choice of removing the people who had been disobedient so that he didn't have to make a harder choice later on down the road. We can choose the tough path of obedience or the tougher path of disobedience. We need to resist the emotional responses, selfish paths, dishonest opinions, and greedy activities of difficult situations and allow ourselves to suffer a little so that we don't have to suffer a lot.
