Not Without the World

We cannot fulfill our mission apart from people. When we avoid others and stay in our homes in order to not be around people, we are limiting our mission. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5 that we are to be "the salt of the earth" and "the light of the world" and we can not be these things alone. We cannot fulfill our mission and be introverted to the point of exclusion of people, relationships, and opportunities. It is called outreach because we have to reach beyond ourselves, and our circle, and perhaps our comfort.
