The Blood

The book of Leviticus mentions blood a total of 86 times. Therefore, it must mean that blood is a big deal. Starting in the Old Testament and moving all the way through the New Testament we find that the shedding of blood has a very significant meaning. Blood not only represents life, life is contained in the blood. We also know from the book of Romans that the price of sin is life. When we understand what Jesus did for us we see that through His life of the flesh (His blood), He has made sufficient payment to settle our sin debt and free us from the condition and penalty of our unrighteousness. Now, through Jesus, death is no longer separation from life. It is now the pathway, helped by Jesus, to eternal life.
