The Law

Sometimes, we can read the book of Leviticus and ask, "What in the world is in this for us today?". However, our goal is not necessarily to draw application from every detail but to discover the deeper meaning behind the details. All of the the rules and rituals that we find in Leviticus are rooted in the same place. They are rooted in holiness. God is drawing a line across every aspect of His people to separate them or set them apart. God not only desired that the Israelites be holy but that we would be holy as well. Every part of these instructions are designed to teach us the extreme nature of God's holiness. Because of Jesus, God has declared all believers holy and has come to dwell inside of us. We should make every effort to live up to the standard of God's gracious gift.
