Forgive and Forget

In Genesis, the story of Joseph is filled with a roller coaster of emotions. Joseph finds himself being favored by his father when compared to his brothers. His brothers, in turn, sell Joseph as a slave to the Egyptians. While in Egypt, Joseph goes through many tough times but ends up becoming an aid to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. When a famine hits the land Joseph's brothers unknowingly come running back to him for help. Joseph has compassion on his brothers and forgives and forgets what they did to him in the past. This type of forgiveness is sometimes very difficult to accomplish in today's society. However, in order to be better models of Christ we must constantly strive to forgive and forget situations where someone has wronged us.
