If You Believe You Will See

The world has trained us that in order to believe something, we must be able to see it. The Bible, on the other hand, has taught us that we must believe in order to see. John 11 tells us the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. By the time Jesus arrived to the tomb where Lazarus was, he had been dead for four days. Jesus tells Martha, one of Lazarus' sisters, "The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? ".(NIV) Martha replied, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world." (NIV) Jesus was telling her that her brother will live even though he has been dead for four days in the tomb right in front of them. Martha was willing to believe the supernatural over the natural. She was willing to believe before she saw proof. Jesus then miraculously brought Lazarus out of the tomb. We must do the same as Martha and be willing to believe first and then we will see the glory of God.
