God in the Flesh

God desires people to love Him to the point that they deny sinful and selfish pleasure. He wants people who genuinely desire to please Him rather than a people who just want to appease Him with some religious activity. However, a sinless humanity is not something that is possible, so God Himself has to make a way for our sins to be forgiven. In the Old Testament the sacrificial system was put in place to temporary forgive His people of their sins. But this entire system pointed to the fact that there would be a sacrifice for the sins of the people so that our scarlet sins will be made as white as snow forever. Many of Isaiah's prophesies point us to the coming Messiah, the Lamb of God, who will take away the sins of the world. It is through Isaiah that we gain a dramatically different understanding of the promised Messiah, His mission to clear our sin debt, and how He is going to do it.
