No Longer Under Law

The law that was given to the Israelites did not fix the sin problem and it really offered no solution at all. In fact, because of the nature of sin in us, it only makes things worse. We didn't need a new set of rules...we needed a new nature. Jesus has given us that. We now have the ability to obey. God, through Jesus, has fixed the underlying problem, which is our hearts. When we surrender our lives to Jesus we are "born again", which John 3 talks about, and we are given a new nature which makes us dead to sin and law, but alive again to God.
