Glory of the Believer
What does it mean when the Bible speaks of the glory of man or the glorification of man? The word "glory" in the Old Testament held a meaning of the "weight" or "heaviness" of God. That He is the big deal and we declare that with the way that we live our lives. When God created Adam and Eve, He did it in His image and they were the representatives of the Glory of God. They carried the weight of God in their body and in their character and they became the target of Satan. When they fell short of carrying this weight, God in His infinite wisdom sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ, to carry the fullness and weight of God for us. Jesus is the consummation of God's plan. He not only modeled the life of glory for us but also provided a way for us to live this life. When we allow ourselves to suffer in an effort to please God then we have become co-sufferers with Jesus. It starts now with confession and repentance before God.
