His Needs/Her Needs

The Biblical mandate for our marriages is for a man and a woman to be one flesh. This was first stated in Genesis 2:24 and this is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife. The two become one flesh. Two very different things becoming one thing is a life long effort. You will never be done with the job of marriage. That does not mean that marriage has to be a grind or a hardship, but it will definitely require effort, patience, Biblical love, and prayer. God desires that our marriages be the most important human relationship that we have. If it is not the most important human relationship in our lives, we are failing and need to work towards change.
