Essential Characteristics of True Love

As we dig into the next 5 characteristics of true love according to 1 Corinthians 13, we come to some pretty tough topics. Love is not rude, is not selfish, is not provoked, does not keep a record of wrongs, and finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in truth. We have all struggled with one or more of these characteristics at some point in our lives but we must realize that God is love. True love is gracious, selfless, not provoked, keeps no record of wrongs and rejoices in truth. This is exactly what God is to us and this is true love. Even more, a true Christian is known by their love.
