Choosing Love in Marriage

At the beginning of creation, God gave mankind three gifts. The gift of life, the gift of God's companionship, and the gift of marriage. Right away, satan began his schemes to drive a wedge between man and woman, thus starting a war on marriage and families. However, it is when we love that we can properly fight this battle. True, God-honoring, selfless, intentional love is the only solution. It is not how we want to be loved that is the standard by which we evaluate our marriage. Nor is it the degree of love we receive from our spouse that is our primary motivation in marriage. It is the standard of God's love. How desperately He continues to love us even after all that we have done to be unlovable.
