The Rainy Parade

"Don't rain on my parade" and "Don't sour my sauce", are just a couple of examples of sayings that show us the idea of something good being overshadowed by something bad. The story of Jephthah is arguably the worst story in the Bible. It is a story of God's deliverance of Israel but somehow that miraculous delivery is not the centerpiece for those who know the story well. Somehow, an entire nation is delivered and yet this is a tragic tale beyond comprehension. However, this story highlights one very important fact. There is no solution for the tragedies of this life apart from Jesus. He is the victory that surpasses all tragedies.
