Dealing With Discouragement and Disappointments

1 Samuel 29, even in it's brevity, shows us something that is powerfully important in regards to dealing with life's letdowns. Most of us would have no trouble determining our greatest discouragement thus far. We are a people who actively and Biblically focus on the blessings and to be sure that the blessings outnumber and outweigh the discouragements. Yet Jesus told us that troubles are certain in this life. Bad stuff is going to happen, the curse is still active, sin is still at work in us and around us. The question that David needed to ask himself and we still need to ask today is, "Do you trust God to manage the things on earth in accordance with His perfect wisdom?"
